Watts was the opening act for the Conan OʼBrien “Prohibited From Being Funny on Television” tour last year.  I had the pleasure to meet him.. well.. him AND his amazing hair! I must say, he is definitely one of the most entertaining person I have ever meet.  A naturally born funny one of a kind guy that you kind of wish you would be his friend.  As you can tell from this picture, his hair covers the top of my head! lol 

What I am trying to say is.. you should watch these video and be ready to be entertain in the most brilliant ways with Reggie Watts..

Día de los Muertos photo shoot!

A few months ago I wrote a blog about Sylvia Ji. A super talented artist that creates beautiful sugar skull art work. I love her work so much that she was a big influence on my latest creative 'Dia de los muertos'. 

The Hair and the amazing sugar skull makeup was by Eduardo Mella and It was shot by the one and only Nikki Ormerod.

Through my research, I read some fascinating things about this Mexican holiday. I felt really inspired by this colorful tradition.

'Dia de los muertos' is the Spanish for 'Day of the Dead' and It is a Mexican celebration honoring the souls of the dead. The dead are believed to pay a visit to their friends & families for 3 days. To honor them,  the families create altars decorated with crafts, food and symbolic decorations and a picture of the love ones. I kind of love that.. Cemeteries, streets windows and houses have bright vibrant color decorations and flowers everywhere! There is even food and festivities that take place in the streets. Yep, death is a celebration in Mexico! It really is a happy event. The part I LOVE the most is that it keep the family, friends and loves ones together.

Again through my research, I came across this really hilarious new Mexican trend. The Mexican pointy cowboy boots! I have pictures to prove it.. and there is even a documentary! LOL

Heidi Klum is the queen of Halloween!

One costume I am always looking forward to see is Heidi Klum! She always have the most amazing, crazy and unusual WTF costumes! She sure knows how to dress to impress! Since 2001, Heidi Klum has been throwing amazing Halloween bash. In fact, her party is the celebrities go-to Halloween every year! And this year.. her costume is just amazing and I absolutely LOVE her skinless body costume! Each year, her outfits are made by the very talented fashion designer; Martin Izquierdo. Notice how she always wear her fangs?

Just because.. but really? WTF?

Cupcake costume à la mode!

I absolutely LOVE Halloween! Free candy everywhere, fun spooky decorations and best of all.. we get to play dress up! I especially love how some people really put a creative effort on their costume. This year, my costume was.. an "out of the box" challenge!

A week ago I received a phone call from the Toronto Star asking me if I was interested to participate in the Halloween "out of the box" challenge for the Living Section. They were asking a 12 years old boy, a crafty dad and myself to make a Halloween costume using a box. A few days later, there was a picture of me in the Toronto Star.. dressed as a cupcake!! 

The challenge consisted in making a Halloween costume out of a 6-cubic-foot box, paint and a roll of tinfoil. So many ideas came to my mind but I really wanted to make a cupcake!

The challenge also allowed me to add 3 other elements of my choice. So I added a lampshade to create the base of the cupcake, the fabric for the icing and I used Styrofoam balls for stuffing,  to make the silver balls and for the cherry on top! 

 

Et voilà! My "Cupcake à la mode" costume..
