Oh no.. someone in the McQueen team didn’t do their homework, and it’s going to be a costly lesson! The Hells Angels have filed suit against British fashion designer Alexander McQueen for copying their skull and wings logo!
On the left, you see a Blazer from McQueen Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. On the right, the Hells Angels 'Death Head' logo on the back of a jacket. The symbol has been used by the Hells Angels since at least 1948, and that it is protected by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Most people know better than to mess with a motorcycle club!! I am quite shock to know that is happening! Not only McQueen used the exact logo but he also name his pieces using words like "Hells" and "Angels". It is no secret that skulls have been very popular on the runways and a big inspirations to lots of designers all around the globe.. but McQueen should have change his design just a little. That collection.. was amazing but I always thought that McQueen had the group’s permission. The Hells Angel are also suing Sasks Fifth Avenue and Zappos for selling the goods.
“This isn’t just about money, it’s about membership. If you’ve got one of these rings on, a member might get really upset that you’re an impostor,” says Fritz Clapp, attorney for the Hells Angels. Here are the few items that The Hells Angels Corporation is claiming that McQueen copied their logo.. The ring and the clutch has been remove from McQueen's website.. Sold out or removed?

Representatives for Saks, Zappos.com and Alexander McQueen, witch is owned by Gucci grouprefused to comment. Gucci Group is owned by PPR, a global player in retail and luxury goods with a very luxurious portfolio I might add. Earlier this week, Jany Temime, Harry Potter costume designer was accused of copying an Alexander McQueen dress for a scene in the latest Potter movie. Busy week for the Gucci group!! The Hells Angels have successfully sued before. Back in 2006, they sued Disney for using the Hells Angels name and membership images in its script for the film "Wild Hogs."The gang withdrew the complaint after receiving assurances that its marks would not appear in the film from Disney. I hate to say it.. but the Hells have a good case against the amazing Alexander McQueen.
Even if you are not into Harry Potter, you probably heard of the new movie coming out on November 19, 2010. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I, aka Harry Potter 7. I am not really a Potter fan but I like the costuming.
French costume designer Jany Temime has been working her magic on 6 of the 8 Harry Potter movies. There is no dough, she is a talented costume designer.. but she does'nt deserve all of the credit on a wedding dress she designed in the upcoming movie. She made a dress identical to one from Alexander McQueen 2008 collection and seem to be taking the credit for it!

In a recent interview with the Los Angeles times, Jany was talking about her inspiration on that dress and this is how she described the inspiration behind the wedding dress: “Fleur’s dress is made in organza and decorated with a pair of phoenixes that face one another on the bodice and form the silhouette of a heart. I chose the phoenix because, like love, it is eternal.”
Ok, that was a lovely sentimental statement Jany.. but you forgot one thing! ALEXANDER MCQUEEN!! Hello?? What was she thinking.. doesn't she knows how many people in the world are obsessed with Alexander McQueen and people will say something? It is one thing to copy a creation you like and wear it yourself. It is another thing to copy it for a production and will make money from it. I can only imagine the type of drama this will cause if she does’nt start citing her inspiration. Knockoffs in fashion aren’t a new trick, I get it but at least give the credit to who came up with the idea! At least change the color or something! Alexander McQueens team refused to comment but there is no way they approve of this!

There is a lot of buzz on the internet about Kanye West new music video "Runaway". It will seem genius work to people who think Kanye is a genius, and a stupid waist of time to people who think he is stupid. It has to be one of the most ambitious and expensive ‘music video’ ever made, that is if you can put it in the category of a music video since it is 34 minutes long!
Personally I thought the visuals were amazing! The fire, the brilliant costuming and my favorite scene was with the ballerinas. There are a few things that still escape me.. such as the all black people table served by only white people? Or the Michael Jackson's head floating around was a little creepy to me. Is Kanye trying to hard to be known as a genius?

Costume Design by Josef Cechota.. Phillip Lim did all the costume along with Martin Izquierdo (The master of Victorias Secret's wings!) Amazing job! Selita's costume was absolutely divine. It was made of an amazing mass of sexy skin tone feathers placed ever so strategically. Kanye wanted Selita to appear fully nude.. why am I not surprise? She said "No sir, that's not gonna happen!" LOL

For the last few weeks.. Fashion Television has been following the amazing photographer Nikki Ormerod. Why? Simply because she is so freaking fabulous! Nikki is represented by Westside Studio, they rep the best photographers in the city! In fact .. She is so fabulous that she hired me to style for her shoot. Yay! I was trilled! The vibe of the shoot? Vintage Glamorous Hollywood Starlet!! ♥
The first store that came to my mind was the amazing store Cabaret on Queen Street West! By far the friendliest store in Toronto! Then I went to Gadabout on Queen East.. this place has so many hidden treasures! I got amazing dresses from both places but I still needed something more.. red carpet oh la la! So Wayne Clark it is! Wayne is known for his dramatic evening gowns. His fabulous dresses have been worn by Jane Fonda, Cindy Crawford and Rihanna .. just to name a few. His dresses screams red carpet. It was a pleasure to meet him and his dress was one of my favorites! Did I needmore dresses? Not really but when I walked by Shkank on Yonge Street.. I saw THE perfect dress with so much sparkle .. I NEEDED it! It was a dress designed for a princess!
All of my amazing dresses needed some spectacular jewelry. I contacted the best in the city!! Gay Isber. I cannot find the words to express how much I love her jewelry.. In English or French! Her partner in crime, Jessica Greschner makes the most incredible pieces that could stop traffic!! Who wears her pieces? Everybody from Lady Gaga, Pamela Anderson to Prince Charles and Camilla. The best part is that all the pieces are made here in Toronto. Last stop was at Shopgirls.. a lovely store on Queen street West that carries only Canadian Designers. I grabbed some dreamy feathery headpieces from La Krause to add some drama to my dresses!
I am super excited about this shoot! Hair was by the very talented Jukka Suutari from Plutino Group and make up by Cait Mizzi from Judy Inc. We had a great team of people working on set and our beautiful model Geneviève was from Elmer Olsen Model.. she was so ridiculously gorgeous!

Lee Alexander McQueen will be honor on September 20th during London Fashion Week. A private memorial service will take place for the best designer ever lived at the St Paul's Cathedral, London. Friends and family of the late designer will celebrate his life and his work. Over 2500 people are expected. Anna Wintour and jeweler Shaun Leane will speak at the service. Lee Commits Suicide at 40 on February 12, 2010. He is very much mourned by the fashion community.

How can I not start with Lady Gaga? I love that she continues to outdo herself. She really is a unique individual. Lady Gaga ruled the night by winning 8 awards! But who cares about that.. let's talk about her wardrobe! She had 3 wardrobe changes and keep the worse for last! First Lady Gaga paid tribute to the amazing RIP Alexander McQueen by wearing one of his ART piece from his fall 2010 collection with her 10-inchArmadillo shoes that she wore in her "Bad Romance" video. GaGa’s look was completed with a gold feather hat by Philip Treacy. She wore that same dress for the September's British Vanity Fair issue. Stunning dress!
Her second outfit was a black leather dress and spiked black headpiece designed by Giorgio Armani. I loved it!
Finally, to accept her award for video of the year, Lady Gaga wore a meat dress by Franc Fernandez. I like Lady Gaga for her fearless creativity but that meat dress was gross! I wonder if she had a freezer instead of a garment bag?
PETA already reacted to her dress “Oh, Lady Gaga’s job is to do outlandish things, and this certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body,” PETA’s President, Ingrid Newkirk, told the Daily News.

I think she was shooting California Gurls with Snoop Dogg prior to her wardrobe consultation/fitting and had one to many drag! Her dress is from Marchesa from the Fall 2010 Collection and she wore Jimmy Choo heels completed her look.

Ke$ha looked like a garbage warrior. Really.. she looks very uncomfortable and she's got such a cute style that she really could have done better. K$ wore Walter Steiger shoes, Charles Albert jewelery, and a Swarovski clutch. Her dress was designed by Marjan Malakpour and custom made by Lauren Bradely.

My favorite performance of the night was from Eminem and Rihanna. "Not Afraid." Accompanied by an orchestra, chorus of gospel singers and drummers, he was joined later on by Rihanna to perform "Love the Way You Lie."
And yes.. I also like Kanye West performance.. I know he is a jerk but I still think he is amazing and the beat was so great! If I can be a jerk myself.. I would of add more ballet dancers on stage!

Yoga instructor Dee Duss teaches to participants of her "ganja yoga" class, where people smoke marijuana before starting their yoga session at her studio on Grange Ave., Toronto Ontario September 01, 2010.
For the past year, she has run ganja yoga out of her home studio as well as at the Hot Box Café in Toronto’s Kensington Market. The class takes place on the last Friday of the month, after work, and she charges $15 for each session. Often, she invites a musician to play some relaxing tunes during the 90 minutes, and she gives out munchies – fruits, nuts, tea – after the class.
“Yoga and marijuana, together,” Ms. Pillay says, “it’s like putting salt on your food. It’s just a little enhancement.”

Have you ever heard of Parkour? PK? Art Du Deplacement? Freerunning? People doing insane jumps between buildings.. What ever you call it.. I freaking love it!!! Many questions are raised between the differences of parkour and freerunning but it is quite similar.. I read that freerunning is expressing yourself within your environment and parkour is aiming to get from A to B the fastest. Parkour is often combined with other forms of acrobatics, such as free running, street stunts, tricking and traditional Chinese martial arts like Qing Gong (light body skill). It is amazing and is becoming more and more popular.
Parkour has appeared in various television advertisements, movies such as the film Casino Royale, documentaries, comic books, video games and music videos. Remember Madonna's video for her song "Jump"? Also her music video "Hung Up" contains some clips of free running. For Madonna's Confessions tour, free running was used for the choreography of "Jump". Even the Militaries from different countries are looking for ways to incorporate parkour into training such as the British Royal Marines, they hired parkour athletes to train their members.
I think that this new sport kinda reflect our lives. The buildings and fences represent the obstacles that we face and that we see impossible to overcome.
I can't help asking myself.. what kind of shoes are they wearing to do this? I believe one of them is wearing Kalenji running shoe.. Kalenji has become a firm favourite in the scene as THE shoe of choice amongst Freerunner’s and Traceur’s alike. The shoes are ugly!.. but they seems to be the best! Free running founder, Sébastien Foucan (The Casino Royale dude) helped K-Swiss develop the first shoe for free running and parkour. The shoes are called the Ariake. Pam is an amazing Toronto base artist that have capture the soul of many art lover over the years. In fact, the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley just purchased some of Pam's art for their spa! I guarantee you will fall in love for her delicate style of expression!
This will be Pam Lostracco's first exhibition with the gallery. Lostracco's mixed media work is created through a process that echoes the natural transformation of the urban environment through time, a transformation she sees as similar to the way that a visual impression evolves in the memory, continuously changing in terms of how it is remembered and how it is forgotten.
The opening night is this Thursday, August 5th from 7-10 pm.You can meet the amazing Pam and enjoy a few light refreshments. Rememorations runs August 1-31 at Shopgirls.
